To Whom It May Concern:

I came across your website and was delighted with the find! I am a Registered Nurse in Vancouver, B.C., who suffered terribly in peri-menopause. My own doctor was very dismissive and basically said that this was part of getting older. To make a long story short, I started taking courses in the US on hormone balancing, got me quality of life back and opened my clinic 4 years ago. Although I cannot write prescriptions, what I do for my clients is write a letter to their family doctors explaining about bioidentical hormones and instruct them on how to write the prescriptions for their patients. Many General Practitioners are being asked for bioidentical hormones but do not have the knowledge on dosage and use. I have only had a handful of these doctors refuse to write the prescriptions for their patients. I now have Doctors referring their patients to me. As one Doctor told me, “I’d rather see 10 men than 1 woman with hormone issues!”

Love your work!!!

Regards,

Debbie Williams RN

Hi Christine,
I am an ob/gyn who has been interested and have been prescribing bioidental hormones for the last three years, but I am getting tired of talking so much. I would like to hand out a copy of your book, "Womens guide......" to my natural hormone patients. What is the cheapest way to order a large volume of your book?
Also, do you have any recent suggestions/updates or resources to suggest to me as a practitioner? I find your book one of the more lucid presentations and I would value your input.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael Abrahams

Hello

My husband is co-owner of a compounding pharmacy and has completely
validated the case outlined against Wyeth and the FDA on your website.
He advised me that his pharmacist cannot compound my BHRT because of
this as well! I will be calling my state officials on Sept 10.

Thank You!!!

Thank you so much for the list of physicians. The first physician's name on the list (Nancy Russell) is a name that I had run across on the Internet the day before. I had planned to contact this physician's office to ask if she was an advocate of bioidentical hormone therapy. After receiving your list, I immediately called her office to make an appointment. Talk about synchronicity!!!

The service you are providing for women is wonderful!!!!! Thank you so much! You are a blessing! I plan to contact Oprah to sing your praises!!!

Best Regards!

Dear Christine,

Thank you so much for your referral. I have made an appointment with Susan Doughty, in So. Portland, ME. My general practitioner took notice of all the research I am doing about bioidenticals, and knows Susan, and believes she will be able to help me. My insurance doesn't cover anything alternative, but Susan's office told me I could make payment plans, so that I can work with her.

In the meantime, my own doctor is running whatever labs for me that she can. She told me that "no endocrinology lab in Southern Maine is going to be able to run the kind of hormone panel that you need, because bioidenticals have not caught on here in Maine". She explained that Susan Doughty will most likely diagnose me and treat me, based on a variety of her own labs and also based on my symptoms. I have asked my library to get copies of your books for me. If I had not begun reading books that discuss what sort of blood work to ask your doctor for, I would be at a loss right now. My doctor ran panels for me, but skipped testing my progesterone. Based on my estrogen levels, which are normal, there is nothing wrong with me.

I really wanted to genuinely thank you for your prompt response to me with a referral...it was faster than anything I've requested! Also, it means the world to me that you have helped me to get in touch with someone who will work with me to treat perimenopause the way I want to. I would not have believed I would have such a helpful response from a place in CA from a source I got out of a book.

I promise that I will be making a future donation to your company, in thanks for all your help.

All my best, and my very profound thanks,

Amy Gerow

Thanks so much...I am working my way through the book, and I love it so far. It was recomended to me by Pat Mixon, who along with her husband (Jim, I think) run the Compounding Pharmacy in Hickory, NC. They give a marvelous seminar once a month on BHRT, and she told the last gathering that if you could only afford one book on BHRT, yours was the one! Quite an endorsement.

I want to cry. I can't thank you enough for your help for me. I have felt so alone and hitting so many dead ends I am so depressed. I did not respond due to Oprah, I do not watch her, but I hope that helps your cause. I will be in touch with you to let you in on my journey. I hope it is a path with a rainbow at the end, or at least sunshine.

Warmest regards,
Val

"Great to find your Web site. A lot of my friends are getting into the program and word is spreading like wildfire. It's hard to contain the news once you experience the near-miraculous effects of the hormones! Thanks for the information and your work."

~ Linda C.

"I love your books and your open approach for women. God has sent you as our angel…..I am thankful."
~ Janice W.

I read and loved "A Woman's Guide to Natural Hormones". I have read at least 12 books on the subject and yours is one of my 2 favorites...The other I like very much is Chris Northrup's "The Wisdom of Menopause"...
I feel the baby boomers are once again pioneering a change that will make things better for generations to follow. Your book was very easy to ready, clear, credible and impressive without raving about the outrages of what's currently going on (as I am wont to do). I bought an extra copy to give to my doctor. Thanks for writing such a useful book. Peace to you.
~ Lois K.

"I'm very grateful that Chris Conrad and others like Christiane Northrup took the time to research this crucially important health issue. When I entered premature menopause 12 years ago, there was virtually nothing available. It's gratifying to know the generation behind us will have a foundation in knowledge and clinical results to guide them."

~ Anne T.

“This list you sent will be of great value to me. Thanks for all your help!!!"

~ Linda M.

"Thanks so much. I called all the referral groups here, even the so called Women's Health Centers and came up empty. I was feeling quite frustrated so I can't tell you how much it meant to get these names. Thanks. “
~ Daniele F.

"I'm sorry that you had to go through what you did to finally get some answers to your problems with menopause, but I'm glad you did because your book has been a wealth of information for those of us who did not know where to turn for answers. Thank you so much."

~ Benita A.

"I just finished reading 'Natural Woman, Natural Menopause' and I wanted to sincerely thank you. I am so grateful for the work you have done in helping to educate women like myself who were seeking and re seeking alternatives to our health care."

~ Maggie

“It is great to have a place to turn when questions arise about the health of my friends. We all need to work together to help and heal each other."

~ Dorianne

"I was so happy to read your book. I also was told by my doctor that there were no alternatives to standard hormone drugs. Now I know differently and plan to do something about it. As of now, I have an appointment this Friday with a doctor that lives about an hour away from our town and practices hormone replacement therapy. I am very excited about his visit."

~ Ilse F.

"My work requires 60+ hours a week- most of which is very interesting; however, I refuse to add fearfulness and feeling lousy to the mix. So, many thanks for the referrals and the book title. Thanks for offering an alternative. I would really like to let my system age as naturally as possible while maintaining a healthy routine."

~ Jan N.

I loved your book ( A Woman's Guide to Natural Hormones) and I hope to find a doctor who will prescribe a cream similar to Trans pro ET, which my 40 year old daughter uses. I am 69 and have had all these systems for 29 years, and she is already relieved of the systems in less then a year of menopause! Thanks for all the research you have done. I think I love you!

~ Lee B

"Tomorrow is my 51st birthday, and I have been postmenopausal approximately one year now. During this past year, my doctor has indicated to me that synthetic hormones are relatively safe; that if natural hormones serve the same purpose as synthetic hormones, it would be reasonable to assume that they would have the same side effects. Additionally, he said that synthetic hormones would "probably" provide a patient a more consistent quality of formula…….
…. I have been provided copies of “Natural Woman, Natural Menopause" and ' A Woman's Guide to Natural Hormones' by a friend. I found both books to be very informative. Thank you very much for your assistance."

~ Linda A.

"You guys are performing a national service!"

~ Pat

"Thank you so much for getting back to me. Six or so of my friends, including myself, have started on natural hormones in the last few months and we're telling everyone we know about it. I have also forwarded the link to your site to several people and will do what I can to make them aware of your books and site"
~ Linda C.

“I have had debilitating PMS for over twenty years, it is only getting worse as I get older. It has been very hard to get a doctor to listen. God bless you for providing this service for myself and all the other women who suffer from this problem."

~ Jeanette B.

“Eight months ago, I changed to a young woman doctor who is much more receptive to the newer ideas on HRT. Several months ago, I purchased the book ' Natural Woman, Natural Menopause' , and after reading this wonderful publication, I decided to give Estrace and Prometrium a try. I have been on this for five months now and feel SO much better now – hardly any headaches, and I lost five pounds right away…….
I want to thank you for being so dedicated to educating women about the benefits of a natural approach to menopause."

~ Donna L.

"Thank you for referrals, one of the doctors is close by and on my insurance plan……imagine that! Thanks again. I will pick up the book."

~ Kathy H.

“Thank you for help in this matter. I've read 'Natural Woman, Natural Menopause'…it's the best book I've read on the subject. I've read several over the past 4 or 5 years. I've now ordered your second book on hormones."

~ Joy L.

“The first book I read on menopause was 'Natural Woman, Natural Menopause'. It made so much sense. I was already becoming uneasy with lazy, cookie cutter medicine that so many MDs practice these days, and you and Dr. Laux pointed out that there really are ways to treat the individual. Many thanks for heading me in this direction!

~ Louise S.

"Thank you for your fast response and for all the great info on your site! I was able to avoid a hysterecteomy. My doctor thought I was crazy……I have since changed doctors! Sites like yours make it easier for women to find and choose alternatives. Bravo!

~ Cory

"I received my MD list by post mail this week. Many, many thanks for all the trouble you had to go to. Keep up the good work- we greatly appreciate someone who's obviously on our side “

~ P.A.

"I recently read your book, "A Woman's Guide to Natural Hormones" which I feel is a very thoughtful introduction to the topic for women. I found out about NWI which is why I'm writing you. I have been prescribing bio-identical hormones for the last three years and am quite interested in it. I would be happy to be placed on your list of referral doctors and would be happy to see new patients. I do a lot of work with menopausal and perimenopausal women as well as women with PMS. I am a board-certified internist and have been in practice for 16 years. Please feel free to contact me. “

~ Michael W., MD

"I just finished reading ' Natural Woman, Natural Menopause'. This is the 5ht book I've read on similar subjects. It was the very best for practical information relative to “where to go/ what to do." Very reassuring to read- thanks so much for your work."

~ Ruta K.

"I purchased and read your book, ' A Woman's Guide to Natural Hormones' and loved it. I had a complete hysterectomy almost 9 years ago and the book covered all my concerns. I referred it to my friend and she, too, was relieved to know the symptoms she is feeling is not all in her head!"

~ Linda M.

"Thank you for your willingness to share this much needed information.'

I'm 45 and believe I'm perimenopausal due to missed periods and vaginal skin thinness/sensitivity and dryness, and other symptoms, and I want to try BHRT. My ob/gyn says bioidentical hormones aren't regulated and wanted to put me on a synthetic progesterone to try and bring back my periods. I refused and said I want the BHRT. He did a blood hormone level panel, and said to come back in 6 weeks for the results. He said that Biodentical hormones were 'quackery' and 'snake oil', and that they hadn't been tested as the FDA approved synthetic ones had been in 2002. I am not giving up. I will find BH's and try them. I feel like we're living with Big Brother, no choice in what we can buy, only told to buy what's shoved in front of our faces. Thank you for this informative and helpful site. I will let you know what happens!

I am so glad I found your website and your books. I look forward to receiving a list of the doctors in the DC/MD/VA Metro area so that I can get my hormones tested and begin my natural hormone regimen. I look forward to feeling better. Nita

A revolution finally we are being noticed I suffer from all the symptoms and have been for years.I want to take charge of my live and am looking for a list of doctors in Whitehose Yukon, Canada. My e-mail adress is spamsafe@hughes.net Wonderul site C Spek

This site is a gift to women of all ages. I, and my daughters will benefit from it's legacy. Thank you. Please send me a list of doctors in South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach counties) administering bio-identical therapies. My zip code is 33021 and my e-mail address is fly78912@aol.com. Sincerely, Donna H.

I have been without a period for two years now. I guess I'm menopausal. I had all sorts of perimenopausal symptoms throughout my 40's but I was told I was too young to have them. Now I'm 51 and feel like an old lady (in the sexual sense). I have always looked to the natural realm for answers when ever I don't feel well. Dr's just keep throwing drugs at me to try. Give the medicine time to work, you're body has to get used to it, that's what I've been told about a number of meds I've taken with awful side effects. Prempro being the latest. After 4 days only, I experienced depression, overwhelming fatigue, and headache that wouldn't respond to Advil. I called the office to explain. Hum, that's weird. I'm not taking it anymore I told them. Let's try something else, they said. I don't have time for this trial and error business. The side effects are not worth it to me. I've been reading about the bioidentical hormones and I feel I can live with that. Please E-Mail me a list of Dr.'s in Delaware, Maryland, or PA. I'm tired of being treated like a pill phob. Thanks, Too young to feel so old - Diana C.

I live in Arizona and so I have easy access to bio-identical hormones. I do, however, feel very sad for what women in other states have to go through to get an alternative to synthetic hormones. The patriarchal medical machine is always in full swing, but, thankfully, we have a site like yours, available to aid women in their quest for good health. You do a wonderful service to women.

I need s list of practitioners in my area who would do HRT using bio-identical hormones can you help me? I have e mailed the address given here on your site with no answer, my name is: Isabel Polanco. my address: PolancI1@ah.org Thank you.

I have e mailed the adress given to me here, to obtain a referral to a Dr. who would do hormonal replacement using bio-identical hormones, I have e mailed three time in the last week without any response, can you help me?

I am a 41 year old woman who has had both ovaries removed due to benign tumors growing on both (each ovary removed 13 years apart). In addition, I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago as I had stage 0 cervical cancer. Now that my last ovary has been removed, my physician has me on the .05mg Climara patch (estridiol). Since I've had a previous scare with cancer I'm nervous about this. Is it safe?

Hi, I'm just starting with the symptoms of severe PMS, night sweats, mood swings and craving. I'll be 43 this year and I found your book at the library. I'm waiting for your email list of referrals so I can be more hands-on with picking the best healthcare professional for my hormonal imbalance issues; while at the same time, I'm trying to control my PMS through diet & exercise. Your book is excellent and I am so glad that you survived the experience to share this knowledge. Thanks for the website, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Tonia.

Can natural progesterone address dermiod cyst issues on the ovaries? I would really like not to have any kind of surgery. Thankyou for everything you are doing to help women!

Hi-I just read your updated A Woman's Guide to Natural Hormones and am so grateful to you for writing it. I became menopausal about 5 years ago and had hot flashes, mood swings and vaginal irritation. After reading Christiane Northrup's book The Wisdom of Menopause I tried Remifemin and acupunture and eventually switched to HRT. Although I was successful in finding health practitioners willing to allow me to try bio-identical hormones, they were not experienced with them and the need to individually tailor the dosage and continue to monitor the levels. I am delighted to learn that Dr. Carolyn Shaak's office is about 35 minutes from me and will try to get an appointment with her. Thank you!!!
